Why a Georgia AC fails in the first week of real heat
An AC system holds together fine through a mild spring and then the first real hot stretch finds every weak point at once. The posted $99 AC special covers an evacuate, a recharge and a visual inspection. If the system just needs refrigerant back in it and nothing else is broken, that's the job and that's the price, and it's usually the fastest way to find out whether a warm-air complaint is a simple fix or something bigger.
A failed compressor is not a recharge job. Neither is a cracked condenser or a bad expansion valve. If the visual inspection turns up a part that's actually failed, that gets diagnosed and quoted separately before any work starts, so there's never a surprise on the ticket. Chapter 03
Preventative AC maintenance and the wait
